Mr. Louis acquired his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from UMASS Boston. Mr. Louis worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a research associate. Years later, he decided to become a high school science teacher. So, he went back to UMASS Boston and acquire his Master's in Education.

Mr. Louis spent 2 years teaching a Dorchester High School, prior to its being reconstituted into smaller schools. He spent one year working at one of the smaller schools (NBA) of Dorchester High School.

He is currently in his third year at TechBoston Academy. He enjoys the energy the students bring to school every day. He hopes that he can help them channel that energy into academic excellence.

Mr. Louis enjoys sports, especially soccer.

Ms. Turin

Ms. Turin came to TBA 6 years ago in its first year of operation. She received a BA in music from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and her master’s in Biology from Northeastern University.

An avid musician and naturalist, Ms. Turin is delighted to have the opportunity to bring both of her loves to TBA. Teaching biology at TBA gives her the opportunity to teach and study about the natural world and teaching Science of Music allows her to explore her musical interest in new ways – always learning about new musical styles from her students.

Teaching band after school brings her back to her own school days of playing in the school band. She has continued these pursuits playing cello in orchestras and other venues in the Boston Metro area, and summer trips to Kenya and Cape Cod for research opportunities
